Voices of the World
Across all continents, one voice after another is emerging, telling the tales, sharing hopes, and wishing for a more beautiful future. "Voices of the World" is a very meaningful phrase that signifies the spirit of mankind. From the hustle and bustle of metropolitan areas down to the serene life of rural townships, people around the world express their thoughts in multiple languages, adhere to different customs, and witness various events yet their feelings are surprisingly identical.
While a mother in Pakistan is asking God to help her kid get all the success, a student in Brazil thinks about creating new things. Meanwhile, an Italian artist tells tales through painting. Their voices, although physically far apart, convey almost the same message: spirituality, money, love and understanding.
Thanks to the Internet, mechanisms such as the United Nations and social media platforms give people the chance to share their thoughts with others all over the world. One post has the potential to move millions. A brief account can shatter prejudices. When people's voices unite, obstacles collapse.
Nevertheless, different voices have different opportunities of being heard. There are still a lot of groups whose existence is marginalised. It is also important to talk about the need for equal importance to be giving to listening. The moment of global harmony will come only after understanding the outsiders' viewpoints even if they are different from ours.
Music, poetry, and storytelling are some of the most effective means of communication that unite mankind. The presence of global initiatives such as UNESCO cultural events is both a demonstration of a commitment to diversity and an effort to conserve the cultural heritage, which is the common legacy of all mankind.
It is a call to show respect for differences and at the same time accept people's humanity of "Voices of the World". The message that it sends is to have interaction and not separation, and to have compassion instead of confrontation. We realize that irrespective of accents, languages, or beliefs we are united through the commonality of our wishes when we listen with open hearts.
The world is a better place if each and every voice is taken into consideration. Perhaps the biggest transformation occurs simply when we not only shout out ourselves, but also listen genuinely to others.
